Land Property CreteReference No : #03-1281
Location : Greece :: Crete :: Chania :: Municipality of Apokoronas
Category : Land :: Private purpose :: Over 100.000 Euros

2.000m of land for sale set on the top of a hill with views reaching over the Souda Bay, the Cretan Sea, and with views of the Lefka Ori (White Mountains)...
On this fertile land for sale are currently around 40 olive trees, and due to its position it would be beneficial constructing your house on Crete on the flat part to keep the unobstructed views.
Within the close-by area already some nice villas were built, whose owners are appreciating the tranquillity whilst being so close to the bustling village centre during high season.

Almirida (sometimes spelled as Almyrida) is a small village in the Apokoronos provence, with 3 shallow beaches (two small ones, one a little bit bigger, but nice, and there are more beaches within walking distance) located in the bay of Souda, about 25km west of Chania. The village looks out over the sea and the Akrotiri peninsula. It's still sort of quiet, with some waterside taverns, a few bars and a couple of hotels. Some of the houses are standing in the water of the sea, making it look like a tiny Venice. There is plenty of choice for taverns, super markets, and hotels and apartments (most of them small accommodations). It is a good destination for families and has a certain feeling of class to it. In this area lots of new houses have been built, especially around the village of Plaka. In front of the beach there is a cute islet in the sea which is called Karga. In Almirida you can also find the remains of an early Christian basilica from the 5th century, with mosaics and some fallen down pillars.

Chania - Apokoronas - VAMOS
Chania - Apokoronas - VAMOS
The municipality of Vamos, the capital town of which bears the same name (communities of Vamos and Douliana), consists of the former districts of Gavalohori (Gavalohori, Agios Pavlos, Koprana, Agios Vasilios), Plaka (Plaka, Almirida, Kabia), Kokino Horio, Kaina, Kefala (Kefalas, Paleloni, Drapanos), Xerosternio (Xerosterni, Litsarda), Selia (Selia, Souri, Likotinara), Kalamitsi Alexandrou. It is a semi-mountainous area with interesting natural surroundings, dominated by local woody (oak, holm-oak, cypress, wild almond, carob, laurel and pear trees) or bushy (hairy thorny brooms, cretan sage, herbs etc.) flora and architectural heritage. Small villages, most of which are old, are spread throughout the area, which is characterised by a lack of water and limited agricultural productivity. While this lack of resources resulted in a severe reduction of the population it did not have any effect on the architectural character or the natural surroundings of the region until recently. This is the main reason why a lot of foreigners buy old houses or land and settle here. The biggest part of the steep, rocky coastline has preserved its natural wild beauty and is proposed to become a protected area under the Natura 2000 Environmental Management Program.
