At the lower part of the village enjoying marvellous views of the Cretan Sea, a lovely two storey villa of 80m² plus large semi-ground floor of 60m² and with private swimming pool of 26m² for sale...
The semi-ground floor area of 60m² can be used as guest accommodation, as one will find two (2) bedrooms and one (1) fitted bathroom - which would be ideal for guest's privacy and convenience.

The ground floor comprises a lovely and modern fully equipped kitchen, a generous sized living room and one (1) bathroom, and internal stairs leading up to the upper floor with its two (2) bedrooms and one (1) more bathroom, along with a large veranda of 35m² where one can enjoy amazing views of the sea and part of the village of Plaka.

The house for sale is designed and built to high standards, using quality materials - reinforced concrete frame, double brick thermal insulated walls, double glazed aluminium windows, pergolas, tiled flooring, and are fitted with full plumbing and sewage installation, shutters, mosquito blinds, TV connections, fitted wardrobes in the bedrooms, central heating, solar panels and septic tank.

Plaka is a village in the Apokoronas, a little bit east of Chania, just above Kalyves and Almyrida. The village is developing rapidly and many new houses are being built but there is still an old village centre with a large square, taverns and a church. On the way from Plaka to coastal villages below there is a magnificent view of Souda Bay and the islands in it. Down the road lies the beach of Almirida and a little bit further you can find the beaches of Kalives.

The village of Plaka has many old houses and there is a large square where you can sit under the shelter of large trees in one of the taverns, and behind that you will find a supermarket which is surprisingly good. The village and the beach of Almyrida are about 1 to 1,5km from Plaka. Here are the ATM machines, souvenir shops, a bakery, a number of small supermarkets, bars and plenty of very good taverns and restaurants where you can eat. Almyrida is a cosy and friendly little town with a couple of beaches (also suitable for people with small children because the sea is shallow).

Chania - Apokoronas - VAMOS
Chania - Apokoronas - VAMOS
The municipality of Vamos, the capital town of which bears the same name (communities of Vamos and Douliana), consists of the former districts of Gavalohori (Gavalohori, Agios Pavlos, Koprana, Agios Vasilios), Plaka (Plaka, Almirida, Kabia), Kokino Horio, Kaina, Kefala (Kefalas, Paleloni, Drapanos), Xerosternio (Xerosterni, Litsarda), Selia (Selia, Souri, Likotinara), Kalamitsi Alexandrou. It is a semi-mountainous area with interesting natural surroundings, dominated by local woody (oak, holm-oak, cypress, wild almond, carob, laurel and pear trees) or bushy (hairy thorny brooms, cretan sage, herbs etc.) flora and architectural heritage. Small villages, most of which are old, are spread throughout the area, which is characterised by a lack of water and limited agricultural productivity. While this lack of resources resulted in a severe reduction of the population it did not have any effect on the architectural character or the natural surroundings of the region until recently. This is the main reason why a lot of foreigners buy old houses or land and settle here. The biggest part of the steep, rocky coastline has preserved its natural wild beauty and is proposed to become a protected area under the Natura 2000 Environmental Management Program.
