Location
Situated in Pigianos Kampos in Rethymnon just 200m from the beach and only 15 minutes away from the town of Rethymnon. It is easily accessible from the highway, with regular bus service. It is halfway between Heraklion and Chania, 10 minutes away from the beautiful town of Rethymnon.
Located about 8km east of Rethymnon Town, Pigianos Kampos is found on the way from Rethymnon to Heraklion. This is a long and sandy beach with clean water. It is organized with umbrellas and sun beds and some days in summer it is affected by winds.
Few trees on the shore provide some shade to visitors. Pigianos Kampos is not that tourist developed as other beaches in the region, such as Panormos and Platanes, but still it has some hotels and fish taverns.
Pigianos Campos means "the plains of Pighi", and Pighi is a village above the eastern half of the bay of Rethymnon on the island of Crete. So Pighianos Campos is the flat areal between the village and the coast. The bigger hotel sites of the region concentrate here and in the neighbouring village of  Adelianos Campos, followed by wide ranging gastronomic, sports and leisure facilities, and of course the whole bandwidth of Mediterranean water sports.
At Pigianos Campos, things however run more leisurely than in the neighbouring village. Mainly at night-time, as the number of restaurants and bars located here is far less. There is only one bigger hotel resort and some medium-size ones, but in exchange there are several friendly private apartment facilities which mostly have their own swimming pools.
By the main road there are taverns, supermarkets, car rentals, bistros and ATM machines, and the shops and restaurants on the scene are prepared for the demands of individual tourism.
The beach of Pigianos Campos is similar to the one of the neighbouring village, but during the season less crowded. The major water sport facilities concentrate at Adelianos Campos as well.
