The village Perivolia is 29 km from Kastelli of Kissamos and 62 km from Chania. It is located in the mountainous area of western Crete, at an altitude of 450 meters.
The area around Perivolia is a forest of chestnut trees with small gorges and waterfalls. The few inhabitants are engaged in agriculture, animal husbandry and craftsmanship, as in the village, you will see to make barrels, baskets and lamps.
Located 10 km from Perivolia, the water sources of the village flow to the Cove Stomio. This water path from the village to the sea is followed by a parallel asphalt road, which passes through the villages Vathi and Plokamiana and leads to the Monastery of Chrisoskalitissa and the famous Elafonisi.
The village Pervolia is inhabited since ancient times, as is testified the tombs of the Greco-Roman period and the remarkable finds (pottery offerings, etc.) that were found in them in various places around the village.
In Perivolia, you will see the Museum Anagnosti Skalidi, which includes photographs and other archival material in honor of the chieftain, who fought against the Turks for about 65 years.
Perivolia is a village with around 2500 inhabited, located just south of the city of Chania (distance 4,5 kilometer). It is situated just west of the slightly larger village of Mournies. Just before the entrance to the village you can find this nice church here where you can go in to have a look around or to light a candle. You will drive past the village when you are on your way to the village of Theriso and the Theriso
Gorge. The nature is very pretty here. Perivolia is named after the many flowers and gardens that can be found in the village.
Agii Apostoli is a seaside resort located immediately to the west of the city of Chania and before the area of Kato Galatas (Kalamaki).
If you hear the names Makrys Toihos or Kato Daratso, be aware that actually refer to the same area, which is also can be written as Agioi Apostoloi or Aghii Apostoli, a name derived from the chapel which is dedicated to the Holy Apostles.
Whatever you write it, this is an area of unique natural beauty. A love at first sight area.
Glaros beach is the westernmost beach of all. Then, the two smaller beaches of the Agii Apostoli, are in the middle, and the easternmost beach overlooking the city of Chania, is the Golden Beach .
The area of Aghii Apostoli is quite green. There are parks with groves of pines and eucalyptus trees that cast their shadow even over the sand. Plenty promenade space for sport and recreation, the place has to offer.
Agié Apostoli Beach are 4,7 kilometers far from Chania and 11,6 from the Port of Souda and have three successive sandy bays with clear water, which are not affected by the winds. Õou will find the park of the Agié Apostoli which offers daily Sports. The beach is well organised, with canteens at the sea front as well as facilities for swimming and sunbathing (sun beds, umbrellas, sea sports etc).
