This unbelievable house is standing tall in a plot of 3000m², and it is provided with three separate entrances as well as three separate yards. In that same plot you will be able to find 50 olive trees that produce biological olive as well.

The entrance to the house happens through a heavy wooden door, which opens the way to the paved yard where you will also find two traditional stone troughs, as well as a water well. While moving on there is also a covered patio right outside the main entrance of the house, once again covered with stone.

Another indoor wooden staircase of also 17 steps, is welcoming you to the floor which is equipped with an air conditioned bedroom, with its own ensuite bathroom fitted with a shower, while next to it a wooden staircase of 5 steps this time, leads to a second air conditioned bedroom with its own ensuite bathroom fitted with a shower.

The third entrance leads you to the same setting as the first, it opens up to a broad paved yard, and then a few steps away you are led to the main entrance.

Upon entrance, there is firstly the spacious open plan area that includes the sitting area, also fitted with a fireplace, and the kitchen as well.

This part of the house is also armed with its own bathroom fitted with a shower. From there a wooden staircase of 12 steps, is inviting you to discover the also air conditioned bedroom with its own ensuite bathroom.

Location:

Apokoronas is a region which extends to the northeastern part of the prefecture of Chania, by the foothills of the White Mountains to the north coast of Crete.

It is characterized by the green hills and the fertile tracts of land, due to the abundance of water coming from the mountains, creating the only natural lake of Crete, as well as rivers which run through the region, before finding their way out to the sea.

The geographic position of Apokoronas is significant, as it connects Chania, with the other prefectures of Crete. Apokoronas reaches the southern part of Souda. There are also two capes, the cape of Souda and Drepano. A part of Apokoronas is covered by the mountain range of the White Mountains.

In Apokoronas, there are also great canyons as Diktamos, which starts from Katochori, Keramia and ends near Stylos, St. Nicholas canyonl between Ramni and Macheri and Asi Gonia canyon. In Apokoronas, there are also 213 recorded caves with historical and environmental value.

The ruins of ancient Aptera are located on a hill above the bay of Souda. Founded in the 7th century BC, Aptera was one of the largest city states in Crete and was continuously inhabited until an earthquake destroyed it in the 7th century AD.

A monastery was established there in the 12th century.

Most of this very large site has not been excavated yet but you can see impressive Roman cistern, a Greek temple, various other buildings and massive defensive walls. At the north-western end there is a Turkish fortress with superb views of Souda bay.

The archaeological site of Aptera is open Tuesday to Sunday from 8 am to 2.30 pm and entrance is free.
