Location:

Gerani village is situated in the municipality of Platanias but is not as crowded and developed as Platanias. It is still a small village, but with many restaurants and accommodation oprions to spend your holidays.Its only 17km away from Chania city.

The beach of Gerani, right on the highway to Kastelli, is a sandy beach, quite popular. Because it is on the north coast, it is affected by the wind. It is very well organized, with sunbeds, umbrellas and water sports. You can also enjoy food and drink in the coastal taverns and bars and opportunities for swimming and sunbathing. The village offers basic facilities, a small variety of tavernas and mini-markets, butcher, baker, petrol station and there is a regular bus route to the town of Chania.

Due to the size of the village, the only nightlife options you will find here is a few cafes and tavernas open until late in the night. Platanias is very close and easily accesible either by taxi or a car that can be hired.

In Gerani you have the best of both worlds, you can relax on un spoilt and quiet beaches during the day, head off to Platanias during the night or just sit and talk to the locals in a Taverna in Gerani.
