Santorini (or Thira) is one of the most famous holiday destinations and the southernmost island of the Cycladic group in the Aegean Sea. It is a small group of volcanic islands and its name was given by the Venetian in reference to Saint Irene.

Santorini is also considered by many to actually be the "missing city of Atlantis".
