The Municipality of Vyrona is a suburb in the northeast prefecture of Attica and was named by Lord Byron in January 1924.
Characteristic of the area is that was created from the ashes of Mikra Asia Disaster in 1922 on the slopes of Hymettus. In January 1924, at an official ceremony, the settlement Pangratiou renamed Vyron on the occasion of the celebration of 100 years since the death of Lord Vyron, the great philhellene poet, who died in 1824 at Messolonghi.
