Loutraki has an organized beach only 300 meters away from the plot with fine sand and crystal clear shallow waters, it is very well organized and provides all the common touristic amenities such as a tavern and beach bar and it is also one of the main beaches which you can choose when the weather is windy as you will never see any waves there.

The surrounding area gives you the feeling that you are in the total nature but at the same time it is very close to the living areas. The closest living area to the plot is the small traditional village of Sternes, 3 km away from the villa. In Sternes village you will be able to find some shops such as a mini market, bakery, butcher and pharmacy. More shops can be found in Kounoupidiana (11 km away) which is the largest village of Akrotiri peninsula.

Regarding Akrotiri area, there are some remarkable historical monuments, monasteries, churches, caves, the famous tombs of Venizelos and many places with archaeological interests.
In addition, if you are looking for privileges that only a big city can offer, then Chania town is 16 km away and offers unique facilities and a wide variety of entertainment.

More beaches near the plot that are :

- Marathi (1.8 km): Marathi has two wonderful beaches, divided by the pier of the harbor. None of the two do take precedence over the other, both are sandy and well organized with sun beds and umbrellas. The most important advantage with the beaches in Marathi is that youll almost never see the sea with waves, even when it blows in western Crete. Also there you can find taverns and cafes by the sea. Marathi is ideal for families with children.

- Kalathas (14.9 km): Kalathas beach is quite long and most of the time you will not feel crowded. However, if youre looking for a secluded spot, youll probably find it in one of the sides of the beach. Be aware that Kalathas beach is being affected by the winds.

- Seitan Limania (16 km): There you will find a beach that differs from other beaches. Nature created three inlets between the steep cliffs of the peninsula. In one of them is located the well-hidden beach which is not organized. Be aware that in order to reach Seitan Limania beach, you have to park your car and then climb down a path, not that easy for children or elderly people.

- Stavros (17 km): In Stavros village you will find two beaches. The main beach where “Zorbas” was filmed, is located in the east side of the village, at the foot of the mountain and has marvelous white sand and shallow turquoise waters. The second beach of Stavros is located in the north side of the village and has sand and rocks in places and is less organized than the first, but cleaner.

Moreover, on the west coast of Crete you can find some of the most amazing well known natural beaches of Crete and Greece like “Phalasarna”, “Ballos”, “Gramvousa” and “Elafonisi”. The distance to the west coast from Crete View Villas is about one & a half hour by car and all the above beaches definitely worth a visit!
